Hello, my name is Oliver. I am an international student and have just guaduated from Macleans College after Year 12. I have just received an offer from the University of Auckland and will be studying for a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Computer Science.
I come from a Christian family and I am polite, quiet, and respectful of others’ space. I am relatively independent and hope to further improve my life skills through homestay living. My English is able to communicate well in daily situations, and I am always willing to learn and improve. I have already lived in Auckland for about two and a half years.
I have a regular routine, usually waking up around 8:00 am on weekdays. I do not smoke or drink alcohol, and I live a clean and tidy lifestyle. I value a calm living environment for studying, but I am also comfortable studying at the library or on campus when needed.
In my free time, I enjoy programming, listening to music, and playing video games. I am mindful of noise and always use headphones if necessary. I am happy to communicate with my host family and share meals together, and I would really appreciate patience and understanding, especially when communicating in English.
This is my first time to live with a homestay. Regarding the length of stay, I am open and flexible depending on the homestay’s preferences. It may be for several months or longer. If the living experience is positive for both of us, I would be glad to consider staying long-term during my university studies.
