Homestay in Stonefields for $280 per week

Hello there,

We are a friendly family living in a modern 5-bedroom home in the tranquil, safe suburb of Stonefields. We have welcomed several International students over the years and have enjoyed their company very much.

We have a very friendly and considerate 22-year-old female flatting with us. Our two boys are studying at Otago Uni in Dunedin (and are only home during the hols), so including our new flatmate, there will be four in the house most of the year.

The Room:
Medium-sized bedroom available with a relatively new and very comfortable queen-size bed. Linen and dresser (desk and chair), heater or fan, etc, provided. The house is fully furnished, but we are more than happy to look at any furniture/bedding requirement you may have, as we want you to be happy here.

The main bathroom upstairs is shared with one other person (most of the year), plus there's a separate toilet downstairs (the master bedroom has an ensuite).

There are several bus stops in Stonefields (one less than 70 meters away), all within easy, safe walking distance of 5 minutes or less.

Bus routes 747, 70, or 75 bring you into the City Centre and drop you off in front of the Auckland University City Campus. The distance between Stonefields and Auckland CBD is 10 km by road, 15 mins by car, and 30 mins by bus (up to 50 mins in peak-hour traffic). Rail into the City from Glenn Innes is 10 mins away and takes you directly into Britomart and the Central City, with a short walk to Uni.

The weekly fee of $280 covers all expenses; effectively, it's $250 rent per week plus $30 weekly for everything else, including water, power and gas, Sky TV/Netflix, laundry powder, all cleaning, lawns/gardens, and unlimited ultra-fast fibre-max internet. You will need to purchase and prepare your meals.

Unfortunately, we are unable to cater for school-age children. We both work full-time, and, as much as we would like to, we don't have the time for school drop-offs and pick-ups, after-school activities, etc. We are happy to help you settle into your new home with us and help organise daily transport to your new learning Institution/University.

Sorry, but no pets, smokers or couples. If you have your own car, there's on-street parking right outside the front door.

We are experienced and comfortable hosting Students (17 years and older), and, as much as our homestay is busy, we do like you to feel welcome and part of the family (if you need anything, just ask) – we have no problem helping you learn English.

An all-inclusive board of $280 per week is payable one week in advance. We greatly appreciate 4 weeks' notice before moving out.
