I am an international student coming to study at the University of Auckland City Campus, starting my course on 14 July. I am looking for a short-term homestay for around 6–8 weeks first to adapt to local life, and I may extend if the living environment suits me well. I need stable Wi-Fi for daily classes, assignments and online study, and I will rely on the free airport transfer service provided by the university so I do not need pickup service from the host family.
I am quiet, tidy and responsible. I will keep my personal room clean and fully respect the host’s daily schedule and house rules. I do not keep pets myself, and I am totally okay with host families having indoor or outdoor pets. I do not mind mild smoking in designated outdoor areas, but heavy alcohol drinking and frequent drunkenness at home are unacceptable to me.
I hope the house is close to bus stops with direct routes to the city campus, and walking distance to supermarkets for daily shopping. I am flexible on meal arrangements and happy to communicate any dietary needs in advance. I require the host and all adult family members to hold valid New Zealand police vetting certificates for hosting underage international students to ensure living safety.
