On bus route to Takapuna Shopping Precinct and / or Akoranga Station (10-15 mins).
Also on bus route to Devonport (10 minutes) and or Bayswater Ferry Terminal (8 minutes) - ferry goes directly to Queen Street / Britomart Train Station. (15 mins)

Your bedroom is lovely and spacious, warm and dry with lots of light.
The house is recently built so dry/warm, quiet and peaceful.
You would be sharing only with me most of the time, so if you are a person who likes a peaceful, quiet, very safe and friendly environment to live and work in, my home will work well for you. My son will however be home and visiting from Victoria University (Wellington), from time to time.
I would consider exclusive use of the bathroom depending on your budget as I have a bathroom and there is also a separate toilet downstairs. If this is what you are after, my son and I could share and I would not look to get a second homestay.
We are an easy 8 minute walk to Takapuna Beach which is probably the best beach in Auckland.
There are lots of other beautiful beaches either accessible by bus or walking. Narrow Neck, Devonport, Cheltenham.
And Daily Bread is on the corner just in front of the bus stop so great coffee and treats less than 50 metres away!

My house is directly on the bus route to the city (802) and easy commuting by ferry too (approx 20-30 mins). You would have your own bathroom most of the time and occassionally over holidays my son would also be back from Uni (Vic Uni - Wellington), otherwise it is just me.
The house is in a very nice development and is a new build, so it is warm and dry. The bedroom available is very spacioius and quiet and the development and area are extremely safe and super easy to access via public transport. I have really friendly neighbours and because it is a development - it always feels like there are lots of people around, yet at the same time, it is very peaceful and quite.
I have hosted students from China, Germany, Italy, Russia and India before.
Most of my previous homestays have been school students but I have also had two uni students stay.
I have a son who is also studying but he is at Vic University in Wellington so it will just be me and you in the house and he would occassionally stay over the holidays. For this reason, a slightly more independent Uni Student would be best so ideally you would value and be looking for a quiet, calm and welcoming home to live and study in.
As I have had many students stay, I understand what it is like to be living away from home in strange surroundings, so while it is not staying with a family, you will stay in a safe, happy and welcoming home and a super safe and beautiful neighbourhood. And Daily Bread is on the corner in front of the bus stops (to the City, Takapuna and the Ferry Terminal in Bayswater)!!
I would consider a budget of $300-$350 if meals are not required $350 - $450 if meals are required (depends how many meals you need). I would consider providing food to make lunch as above but would prefer it if you make your own or alternatively, might be able to provide leftovers from dinner.
If you prefer to have your own private bathroom (not shared) with meals I would consider a budget of $450 - $500 as I have my own bathroom and can share this with my son when he occassionally comes home during holidays. He goes between his Dad's home and mine when he is in Auckland during the holidays.
I am open to having a homestay from now until the end of the University Year or up until June / July if preferred or even shorter term.
